Opportunities for Service
Through Music
Chancel Choir
• Open to adults and youth
• Rehearses at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rehearsals are generally an
hour long
• Provides worship music at weekly morning worship services, community
functions (Presbyterian Home, New Harmony Choir Festival) and special
services (Christmas music service, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy
Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunrise, Thanksgiving).
Handbell Choir
• Open to adults and youth,
• Rehearses at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Rehearsals are generally an hour
long.
• Provides worship music at weekly morning worship services
approximately 6-8 times a year.
• Plays at community functions (Presbyterian Home, Florence Area
Handbell Festival, Pee Dee Center Christmas drive-thru)
• Rings at special services
Junior Choir
• Open to children in the 2nd to 6th grade
• Rehearses at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Rehearsals are 40 minutes long
• Sings in worship approximately 4-6 times a years; performs yearly
Christmas musical during advent; participates in New Harmony
Children’s Choir Festival each spring
Instrumentalists
We are always in need of individuals who play instruments. Additional
instruments are needed for worship throughout the year to play preludes,
offertories and to accompany the choir and congregation
Contemporary Music Ensemble
This is in the planning stages. We need individuals that play “less
traditional” instruments to assist in leading the congregation in
singing and learning contemporary songs
